As I said, this Blog will deal with “Ethics”. For now I won't be outlining a concept or definition of ethics but I will be making some notes about one important question: the separation between ethics and religious moral codes.
Some people think that when a priest says that morality are in decline in the XXI century, he is talking about the presence of homosexuals (they tend to call them: “queers”), prostitutes (“whores”) and, for instance, promiscuous women (“bitches”) in the midst of society. Few times people tend to think that priests are going to talk about environment, ridiculous donations to third world countries, treatment of animals, etc.; despite the fact that these issues are much more important that the question of the “queers” and the “whores” ―although I don’t intend to say that the issues of sexual behavior doesn´t have moral relevance―. Usually they say that the bible and prayer books contain the truth. They want them memorized, but don't want people to think. We have to remember that there are more moral questions to discuss when we go to some grill restaurant than when we have casual sex.
The Plan
(NOFX)
Call it libertarian, because we do as we please
Don't need fear, or force or farce to know morality
Because morals aren't substance you can shove in someone's ear
They're basically a bi-product of a mind thinking clear
The plan, the plan
It's nothing like the bible, there's no lesson to be learned
It ain't the 10 commandments, cause nothings written in stone
It has to do with freedom and personal liberty
I don't fuck with you don't fuck with me
The blueprints of a better world
Were written on a postage stamp
No one bothered to read the front
Stick out their tongue to lick the back
The plan, the plan, the plan, the plan
If you're not part of the cure
You're part of the disease
Father time will tell us who concedes
The blueprints of a better world
Disguise and revealed as fortunes
10,000 Chinese Restaurant
Customers prefer not to read it
when they're taught
Don't think, just eat it
A turning point we call the plan
In order to know what is “ethics”, we just have to know that is freedom. . . but remember that your freedom finish where another's freedom begins. That’s all.
